Mentoring Survey

Time ≈ 5 to 10 minutes depending on how long you take to answer the last question

Submitting the Sage Survey creates your membership.

If you wish to potentially be a mentor, click here. The mentor survey is not a commitment but just asks if you would consider it. When an Inquisitive is interested in having you be a mentor, you will have the opportunity to say yes or no. You will also have the decision to do it for free or charge a fee to the Inquisitive (on a case by case basis). After a successful background check, you can then begin mentoring.

The questions on the Mentoring Survey include:

  • Are you interested in being a Mentor? (Inquisitives can see this answer)
  • Volunteer or pay? (This can be changed later) (Inquisitives will know this answer)
  • Are you willing to have a background check performed? (See Sage Vetting below)
  • Why do you wish to be a Mentor? (Inquisitives will know this answer)

Sage Background Check

For the safety of the Inquisitive’s, when a Sage is first requested to be a Mentor, LifOpps will utilize services to perform a background check. The background check will include convictions for offenses, sex offender registry, terrorist databases, and where appropriate: other references, professional licenses, education, etc. Having criminal convictions may or may not inhibit your ability to be a Mentor. It will depend on the situation, age of Inquisitive, openness with the Inquisitive, what is being mentored, etc.

When a request is received, LifOpps will reach out to you to confirm you are still interested. You will then submit to LifOpps pertinent information that will be required for the background check.

Background checks will always be done when a Sage has received their first mentoring request. Then it will be repeated if some specific concern becomes evident or a specified amount of time has eclipsed.

Background Check Procedure Overview:

  • You submit a Mentoring Survey agreeing to be a mentor and having a background check performed.
  • Inquisitive requests being mentored by you.
  • You approve and supply the required information for the background check.
  • LifOpps has the background check performed, and you are informed of the results.
  • If approved by LifOpps, you authorize the mentoring request and determine if and how the payment is calculated (volunteer, hourly, flat fee, etc.)
  • The Inquisitive is informed and communicates with you via electronic communication through LifOpps.
  • If payment is required, the fee is received by LifOpps and passed along to you. The only deductions are the cost for the background check and payment transaction expense.
  • If you are doing the mentoring on a volunteer basis, LifOpps will pay for the background check.

LifOpps was founded in Southern California, where you can only see a few stars due to light pollution. To see all these stars at Arches National Park in Utah is awe-inspiring. Seeing all those stars caused emotions that helped create the Lifopps concept. There are so many ancient stories and legends about the nighttime sky that relate to Sage characters. It reminded us that the Sages are always there ... waiting ... for the Inquisitives to ask their questions.
